The endless blue stretches in Waves (2) by Hiroshi Nagai, where the ocean’s surface mirrors the sky in a seamless, sunlit expanse. This is not a storm-tossed sea but a calm, shimmering horizon—flat and luminous, built from crisp airbrushed gradients that dissolve into one another. The palette is a study in restraint: cobalt blue deepens into turquoise, then softens into the palest aqua near the shore, while the sky’s gradient shifts from electric cerulean to a ghostly white at the top. There’s no visible texture, only the glassy reflection of light on water, a composition so balanced that the eye lingers on the subtle ripples at the water’s edge before drifting back to the endless sky. The mood is serene, almost weightless, as if the viewer is standing at the very edge of the world, where the sea and sky become one.
